Homecoming
Each year, 3Ls have the once in a lifetime opportunity to take the football field, run its length, and toss their “Hats and Canes” over the end-zone goalpost. Legend has it that if you catch your cane you can rest assured you’ll win your first case after graduation (upon proof of your cane catch, the 2nd and 7th Circuits let you appeal a losing case on this basis*). The day typically begins in the Law School Atrium for Bloody Maries, Mimosas, Screwdrivers, and Doughnuts from Madison’s own Greenbush Bakery. From there, 3Ls, MLI students and their guests head down University Avenue to Camp Randall Stadium for the game. At the conclusion of the game, 3Ls, MLI Students and their guests are invited back to the law school for Bar-B-Que meal, or vegetarian alternative, and drinks.
